TCJT-31型差示掃描量熱儀應用范圍有：對材料氧化誘導時間的測定，高分子材料的固化反應溫度和熱效應、物質相變溫度及其熱效應測定、高聚物材料的結晶、熔融溫度及其熱效應測定、高聚物材料的玻璃化轉變溫度等。實驗對象為：固態、液態、粘稠試樣，除了氣體。將試樣和參比物分別放入坩堝，置于爐中進行程序加熱，改變試樣和參比物的溫度。若參比物和試樣的熱容相同，試樣又無熱效應時，則二者的溫差近乎為“零”，此時得到條平滑的曲線。隨著溫度的增加，試樣產生了熱效應，而參比物未產生熱效應，二者之間產生了溫差，在DTA曲線中表現為峰，溫差越大，峰也越大，溫差變化次數越多，峰的數目也越多。峰頂向上的峰稱為放熱峰，峰頂向下的峰稱為吸熱峰。

The larger the temperature difference, the larger the peak, the more times the temperature difference changes, and the more number of peaks.
